Today's high temperature was 100 degrees and the heat index was 107. By the time we ran, it was a chilly 96 degrees, which made the run difficult. I managed to pull through but it was a struggle at times.
Have I mentioned that I really hate the hot temperatures in the summer? Because, I do. I really do.
I finally got brave and trudged ahead for Week 3. I felt like I was going to puke but I did it! I'm so proud of myself because I never thought I'd be able to run 3 minutes straight TWICE! But whoever thought a 90 second walk before the last 3 minute run is evil. Evil.
Since I had a week vacation from running, I decided to do another Week 2 day. It wasn't as bad as the other night, but still not fantastic. I did complete all the runs but I was sooooo out of air by the last run. I'm still not sure if I'll start Week 3 with the next run or not. I know I can probably do it, it's just getting my mind around running 3 minutes non-stop twice.
Sorry I've been MIA. I was on vacation, so I took a blog vacation as well. My plan was to go back and post for each today today, but our internet isn't working. Boo.
But back to reality:
After a week off, it wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be.
Caitlin and I had a girl's night last night and checked out the new piano bar in town. It's so nice to actually have a nice bar in this town! It's smoke-free and a lot of fun. It was really nice to come out of a bar and not stink! (In this town, that's a huge deal, too.)
I was terrified to run 90 seconds straight. (I hope in a few weeks I can look back and laugh at that statement.) I was actually dreading it a little. Determined not to give up, I pushed through and completed all of the runs. It wasn't that bad actually!
It's Rodeo Time! My dad and I have been going to the rodeo together since I was in elementary school. Brian's been going with us the past couple of years, but missed out this year. So, dad and I had some good father-daughter-bonding time this year. :)
I got my haircut today! I was a little embarrassed to be bringing in a picture of Tori Spelling as my inspiration, but whatever. She has cute hair.
Please excuse the horrible self-portraits through the bathroom mirror at work.

Completed Week 1! Today was a lot easier than Monday and I felt good about the run. It was cloudy and not as humid as Monday, which helped. Ready for Week 2...I think. :)
I'm a newlywed living in Arkansas that loves to cook. My wonderful husband, Brian, serves as my guinea pig. I have one "child," which is my 8 year old cocker-spaniel Jack.
This is my personal journey to becoming a healthier version of myself. Along with some random thoughts here and there.
I'm no expert, so join me while I'll figure out what the hell I'm doing here. :)
